Justin Kao is an artist manager and audio engineer with experience in music, film, podcasts, audiobooks, and more. He is a graduate of American University where he earned his B.A. in Audio Production and M.A. in Audio Technology.

As an artist manager, he facilitates interviews, shows, sync and distribution representation, playlist placements, music rights management, content creation for social media, and beyond, working with clients whose achievements include 100k+ monthly listeners, 4m+ streams, 40k+ social media followers, and 13m+ social media views. His current work with Pluto Koi has led to inclusion on sync pitches for Netflix’s XO, Kitty, distribution representation through 88rising’s FAM, interviews, and curator playlisting. He previously supported Juju B. Goode, whose career highlights include placements in XO, Kitty and opening for popular K-R&B singer Junny on his North American Tour, with music distribution through POCLANOS, content creation, and live shows. During his past partnership with viral music collective Ghoulish Motif (formerly Townewest), his efforts contributed to song collaborations, live shows at historic venues such as The Hotel Cafe and Whisky a Go Go, curator playlisting, content creation, and short film production. 

As an audio engineer, he has worked with artists who boast 20k to 150k+ monthly streaming listeners and 4m to 20m+ streams, such as Pluto Koi, sunshine blvd., Roman Kayz, and Jhung. His film and television contributions as a post-sound mixer and sound designer include the award-winning documentary Upstream, Downriver, which was named a Remi Winner at the 56th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, and OUTtv’s Drag House Rules. Projects of which he has been apart are available on PBS, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime and have been screened in notable settings such as the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital, the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, and the Richmond International Film Festival.
